Food Combining 101

So what is food combing all about really? Food combining is always buzzy and trending in the wellness world and it's something that I feel super passionate about. I use it as a TOOL when I am trying to take my health journey to the next level. I also use it when I'm getting ready for an event or a talk and I want to look and feel my best. 

The Western medicine world will tell you that there is no science to back up this concept, but it has been a game changer for me and hundreds of clients.


Food combining rules can get complicated, but most simply it means the following:

1. Eat proteins and carbohydrates at separate times, not combining them into one meal.

2. Space meals out at least 3 hours apart.

3. Eat fruit alone + wait an hour after having fruit before you eat your next meal.

What are the benefits if you do properly combine:

  • Weight loss - no more food baby! (less acidity means less cravings + snacks)

  • Increased digestion - less gas! (no food to sit and ferment)

  • Increased energy (food digests fast + efficiently)

  • Deeper more productive sleep (body isn't working so hard to digest all that food)

Now- let's talk about what's REALISTIC. Most of us grew up eating spaghetti & meatballs, turkey sandwiches and who does't love a good spicy tuna roll? I am not saying to stay away from these delicious combos forever - I am saying use this TOOL when you want to take your health to the next level or when you feel you really need it.
